... with a bit of work, the 1.9.3 / 1.9.4 version of this mod seems to work perfectly well in 2.0. At least, it does for me.

As for an official release of a 2.0 version of this mod? Probably not happening, considering that CFD has left to take on far more important tasks.

PRL was announced to be basically dead until he found someone to take over. He has retired form PC gaming, however will try his best to keep this going as best he can.

Basically here's what happened..

Tony did Tony's lights.. CFD helped..
I took over Tony's lights when he left. CFD assisted transition.
I stopped them, and CFD did PRL
CFD "retires" from PC gaming, he's looking for someone he can trust to take over the project.

That's the background pretty much.
I'll announce here, I am working on a little light mod.. Not as big and flashy as PRL or Tony's lights was, just like so the rotor bars look like they rotate, and like a few other little things, more than base game, but not as much as this.. I'm starting from scratch during free time. Depending on my free time and how I feel about them in the end, I'll release them when they are done, pending Hoppah's approval. I know you all love the blinky light brigade, and with CFD stopping this, I figure I'll try a little something :P

Glad to see we won't be left out in the cold completely, and we all know you're good with lights - I do recall your work back then. (Yes. I've been lurking for -years-.) I'm currently trying to clean up and sort the files so that the 'less skilled' amongst us can somewhat more readily use PRL 1.9.4. That's really all I -can- do, as my own life doesn't allow me the time to spend trying to research the light systems and get them working right (I have ... perhaps 3 hours of free time in a week I can devote to personal endeavors ...), and I'm not really in a position to shift from one practice setting to another in my field at this moment.

The Heart of Project Reality Lights is still beating strong as i have found and Talked to an Ideal Project Leader and i have made my decision after i saw his work....

I Herby announce FirefighterEmt4Life, chosen as the New Project Reality Lights Project Leader. Lets all Congratulate him as he will try his best to keep this project vital strong.

He had made some of the lights that i have attempted and failed such as the RotoRay Lights, and you can see his work here:

Yes, he needs to improve in certain areas but i am going to teach him things to improve as well to educate him Project Reality Lights's Goals and Mission.

I look forward of what he will bring for Project Reality Lights and hopefully uncover new technique and lights.

Thank you,

Chad.

Thank you very much C.F.D. First off i would like to say that this projects goal is going to stay the same. All the lights, will be based of of the real units. Keep in mind, i am in upstate NY, so i have never seen them in person, but have seen many videos which show the lighting perfectly. I have been on this forum for some time now, even before i joined. The one problem i have seen is patience. I am going to do the best i can to work on this project, but my home life and school have to come first. Therefore, the badgering, and the complaining will not be tolerated. I will do my best to keep up with the work. But like C.F.D. said, there are still some things i have to learn.

Thanks,
Tyler

Yep. That happens when you don't put the EMT Supervisor SUV in before using the lights pack.

You've got a few options.

First option? Consider it a modern art installation.

Second option? Download the EMS SUV, install it, reload the lights pack. You can find it here. (I personally like the EMS SUV, but that's just me.)

Third option : Use the attached fix file. Same way you installed the PRL, it will ONLY overwrite the EMS Supervisor car with a version from a previous PRL.

Also : Seriously. Learn to take a screen shot, because I do not enjoy having to download and virus-scan .doc files to troubleshoot. If you're -really- at a loss? Get FRAPS.

** post modified to : add link to EMS SUV, add patch file for THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE **

Simple enough. Unzip it to it's own directory. Then copy the "Models", "Prototypes", and "Units" folders into whatever directory your copy of LA Mod is installed to.

You unzip the .rar file with a program such as WinRar or WinAce, or another program that can handle RAR files. After, you can move the folders/files to your installation directory.

One more "Q", These just go to Prototype/Vehicles files only?

Yes, but make sure you are moving the files/folders to the Mods/Los Angeles Mod 2.0 directory and not the main directory.

That's a bug with this submod. Have a look through the topic, I think there is an answer somewhere. I'll have a look and see if I can find it as well.
