To the best of my recolection none of the current maps have fire risk at wrecks. You may get a vehicle fire but never as part of a vehicle collision right?
Gas leaks would be perfect. Similar to on EM3 the mission that the tanker crashes into the house. If you do it right the gas trail never gets fully ignited.
Your wrong as when you see some wreckages, there is smoke. If you don't put it out there will be an explosion. If we are talking about EM4 & 911 FR LA Mod.

I never dispatch the fire engines for MVA. I have a HES scripted to park out side both stations so when theres an MVA I dispatch the HES and save my fire trucks for the actual fires. The heavy rescue crane is also parked outside that station so in some cases I can just send the HRC since it has the jaws of life and 2 firefighters in it.As far as MVAs w/ car fires, typically i would imagine you dispatch an engine to go to the accident, on some accidents the cars will be smoking, if you leave this unattended they explode/ignite. so you do get fires but the engines are on scene and automatically extinguish them before you realise that it was ever on fire
For car fires I typically send my engines though just because the deck gun is equipped and saves me having to equip a fire extinguisher.

I think the idea of various severity of accidents sounds great. I don't know how well a gas leak would work, because you'd have to have triggers for it, but how would you clean it up? Otherwise, how would it ever disappear?
I'd actually like the extrication to take longer, but I couldn't find the timer for it in the scripts so I just let it be.

Well IDK if HAZMAT could do that, but if they could, that would be a really cool thing to have, because then they would have a bit more use, but sticking to realism, how often is HAZMAT called out to a gas spill from a car in an MVA?(serious question, IDK)
I say that only Tanker Trucks and Tanker Train Cars when they have wrecks and that's all other than the Chemical plants. Don't you think so?

Basically it would have to be a fuel truck or something similar to be contaminating, but it would behave like the fire does, if it was burning it'd infect others through the gas cloud... generally that isnt totally realistic looking and I'm not sure if we can associate that with car accidents anyway, good idea though for changing it up.
I got a better idea, give me a half hour or so and I'll get it.

i find that to be inaccurate..you can have chlorine on a tanker truck and i never see PD. if that explodes/ignites you get a big problem..
i was talkin radioactive and nuclar waste.

We have an old 80's Ford School Bus(short bus) for hazmat and I have only seen it code 3 to an event once or twice and that was back during the big anthrax threat like 5-10 years ago.

Thats what i said isnt it?Off-topic: the tanker in the EM3 mission will ALWAYS explode (at about 14 minutes). you have to have all ur units cooling it beforehand so when it does blow, it doesnt start a huge fire (let that happen once. was not fun)
