It's a 1991 Ford Rescue Apparatus, Callsign R15.

SVFC is based in Saxonburg, Butler County, Pennsylvania.

Thanks,
Andrew.

This should probably go to some aircraft fan forum, but since it IS an emergency vehicle, I thought I'll ask here. You are welcome to guess the purpose and location of the helicopter, I'll confirm the answers. What I am really after is the make/model of the helicopter itself - never seen it before. Sorry for the picture quality - as you see, it's from a TV screen.

P.S. I just realized there are posting order rules in this thread. Well, sorry for posting out of turn, I am not about to take part in the game. Just need a bit of help satisfying my curiosity : )

I'd like to thank Sirius7dk very much for answering my question. The helicopter in question is, most probably, Eurocopter EC135. As to the purpose/service branch/location, the guesses are still welcome : )

I think it is an EC145 not a 135. :gruebel:

We need more pics of the helicopter to be able to confirm the model though.

The 135 and 145 does look alike but the 145 is in the military range while the 135 is the civil version :)

The Met. Police use EC145s. I think New South Wales Ambulance have 2 EC145 Air Ambulances.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide any more pictures of this vehicle : ( This is the only one I have. As to the situation though, I will give a hint, the event in this picture was a major one (city-wise) and happened quite recently. It got the attention of pretty much the whole world press.

You're correct, NSWAS use the EC145's. Though i'm pretty sure there are a few more than 2, something around 4 or 5.
Thanks,
Andrew.
