Hey,

first, nice to read that some people think their ideas through before posting them ;)
If I remember correctly, there was some kind of subway mission, in the Emergency series, don't know if it was Emergency 2 or 3, but it was something about a subway station that had a gas leak, or gas terror attack or something like this, plus a fire started raging in the station. It was a somehow difficult mission, as you could only use your men, no vehicles (obviously), and you had to use what few hydrants where in the station, you had long transport ways for the injured and only limited time, making that mission quite difficult :)

Edit:
@Commander Rasser: Those streets look awesome!

It was in EM 1. there where two missions: terrorist attack in the subway and fire in the subway.

This has already been suggested before a couple pages back. If only you would look.

To explain why this was denied;
This car used to be in the LA Mod for EM3 and the reason beeing that it isn't in the one for EM4 is that this car isn't used in Los Angeles anymore.

Hey everyone,

my first idea, is a question/ idea about a redesign of the Red cross hummer. I'm not from LA so i could be totaly wrong, but I have never seen a Red cross hummer in my neck of the US. What we have in the midwest is volenteers who drive there own cars, with flags and red dash lights. Also they use some van's and most of the time I see Red cross converted ambulances, that become Disaster Relief vehicles. I think it would be cool to have a modified ambulance as the red cross vehicle. Also insted of the normal parametics maybe red cross workers with the red jackets, also i know in our area after a disaster they help to set up flood lights etc... so maybe add the enginer but again modify him having a red jacket and only able to set up lights.

Red cross hummers have been the big deal since just after Katrina. Type Red Cross and Hummer into google and you can read the press releases and such of all the donations and programs throughout the US. We also have the POVs and the DRVs as well for rehab and civilian services during fires and disasters.

One thing that might be better then such a massive revamp, would be to reskin the vehicle or remove it and replace it with the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency SUV. During a disaster or large scale incident, the EMSA will transport additional Doctors, Nurses, and Emergency Medical Personnel as well as set up mobile field hospitals in conjunction with FEMA DMATs.

LACoEMSA is the parent organization in charge of all EMS in Los Angeles County, including LAFDs.

my second idea is about adding the police serch lights on to the sheriff, L.A. or highway patrol vehiles. I am talking the very bright normally halogen white lights that the police can turn on, which are normally just below the light bar on the roof of the car. I am sure its part of the light bar but that is the location it sits. I have seen them both on the front, back and sides of the light bars, but most often i see them only on the sides. maybe have it as a button to turn on?

The forward facing clear lights on lightbars are known as "take downs" if they steady burn, and sometimes known as pursuit lights when they flash. At the corners on bars like the MX7000 or Vista, you can have sweeping lights known as pursuit lights if they sweep 90 degrees, or intersection lights at 120 degrees. Fixed lights on the sides are known as alley lights and can also be set up to flash.

As for clear lights to the rear, I've never seen any set up like that though I have heard of some depts having intersection lights back there, but I've never seen it without a colored filter anywhere in the US that I've been.

In the game, check out the LAPD with the arjent lightbar and you can see the flashing takedowns and other lights as well. Intersections on the mx7k or a vista would be hardly visible, and the multifunction clear lights on the Smart Vision of the CHP is already set up for the proper rotate.

If you're looking for a spot light kind of function, the problem with that is that it would have to be attached to the special light function with the arrow bar. We've already seen how bad the lighting engine is in the game, just put two ambulances next to each other and use their flood lights and you can't see anything. Imagine multiple police cars all with their arrows on to direct traffic amongst other vehicles and having the takedowns, doorpost spots, and such on. .

Please read through the last couple of pages, that vehicle has already been discussed a few times very recently. The game currently models the correct version of brush patrols used by the LAFD. There were 2 hummers in service at one point but 1 rolled, and the other was removed and given to the Museum.

Mike,

I didn't know that about the hummers and the american red cross. I haven't seen any in Illinois, but besides that point, I just hate how the H2 & H# look in real life, and seeing them in the mod, i refuse to use them... lol I like your idea for an ulturnative EMS vehicle... What about a Disaster Relief agence? lots of towns besides local police, fire, EMS we sometimes also have Disaster agences, they arn't trained cops, or EMS they are there mostly for traffic control and just to assist the police and fire.

The lights i was talking about are the "ally" lights, I think they just look very cool, and cause be very useful in game.

thanks for your response mike!

Thanks,

CrazyLion425

The lightbars on the fire engines match the ones currently in use by the LAFD on their engines. Why change it to something else?

If we had calls where Law Enforcement had to do dynamic entry on locked doors I'd fully agree! But the only locked doors that I'm aware of come into play involves Fire/EMS responses. Forceible entry is something Firefighters do on a daily basis without the need for calling SWAT :)

There are hostage scenarios with barricaded doors (deluxe map?) -- and there is the Hacker mission from the original game, and when you find his house you have to call the FD to open his door :)

Hmm, I have deluxe and all of the houses with hostages were open doors.

Oh! i forgot about that mission, it's been forever since I played the original ones. But yeah, that'd be a good use for it.

I could be mis-remembering.. the axe is rarely used anywhere.

Probably could change one of the hostage missions per map to have barricades, but them we'd need to have an axe-clone in battering ram form :)

Over here police would do most of the forcible entries using the mastercard, so ambos would call up to the local force to do an entry for them, rather than waking up the water faries.

Water faries? Prepare for the wrath of Mikes Meadows!(if that is your last name). Mastercards are very good for breaching doors, all you need to do is take a mastercard and buy some dynamite.

When I hit the replay those other two post were not there. That can happen in the forums. Depending on when you hit replay and when you hit post others could post before your but who were not there.

You notice two of the post are one after the other, with one more post then mine.

In your case you were to lazy to read what had been already posted. There would not be 58 pages of topic if you and other would read what had been posted before and not keep posting the same thing over and over and over again.

HI hoppah, you may have said something about this before but would it be possible to create parking spots behind the fire station that could have a light equiptment vehicle or hazmat park there??

A few possibilities here:
1:The time of posting really needs to be fixed on the forums

2:You clicked reply to him, then took just under 3 hours to post:

OK clearly you did not bother reading this thread. Or you would seen that this was suggest already and that it been said that this vehicle is no longer in service.

Or 3:you saw what he said, didn't bother to look at the post directly under him OR the next post down to see that people already told him that (17 minutes after his question was posted, then 57 minutes later)

ON topic:

I'm not quite sure if this is what CrazyLion425 is talking about, but is it the search light thing on the drivers side of the police car???
If not then that's my suggestion :P It could be used in the same way as the floodlights on the ambulance, but it just points forwards

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

If you are unwilling to read the thread to see if your idea has been hammered over and over again, then please use the search button. If you are unwilling to do both, you are more then welcome not to post on these forums.

There is nothing more annoying to the general members of this board and to the mod makers themselves then someone believing they have the latest and greatest idea that has already been hashed and rehashed 60 times before.

To Everyone, Please read the entire thread or use the search button. We don't ask much to be a part of this community, but we do ask that you take some time and just the smallest bit of effort before posting.

Water faries? Prepare for the wrath of Mikes Meadows!(if that is your last name).

Nope, he's a private press photographer in the area who covers emergency incidents. I don't believe he has ever been a Firefighter. His pics are amazing though.
