:1046275873_shakehead: Oops, I've posted this at the wrong place ... :1046275873_shakehead:
Hello, it's me again, I found something in the photos that I made when I was in California, just to show some other cars that I seen there :

An Amtrack-California Coach in use there :

A postal van :

A FlyAway Coach making a line between LAX and "I-don't-know-where-in-L.A." :

Slick-top CHP cars:

I've took those pictures myself, I post them only as exemples of what you can find in L.A., just to have ideas, I don't care if they will (or not) ever appeared in the LAmod, Now, if you want me to post those pictures elsewhere, just say it ! :schreiben:

Hoopah,

Just as a thought: Since the fire trucks themsleves carry small extension ladders (Not to be confused with the Ladder Truck), would it be possible for each fire truck (Engine/Pumper) to carry an extension ladder that can reach a second floor? It would be set up much the way that you would get the hose except that you would task two firefighters by clicking the ladder button, and then clicking on the spot on the ground that you would like to raise the ladder from. The two fireman would then carry the ladder over and then automatically raise it. This would allow personel, hose lines or other equipment to be carried over the ladder to say the second floor or the roof of a one story building. People could also be evacuated from the second floor or roof over this ladder to the ground below or, fire crews could take a chain saw, go to the roof, and then cut ventilation holes that could help prevent the spread of fire and release of smoke in the building allowing tjose with hose lines a better chance at getting to the fire.
You could even expand this farther by adding this button to the ladder truck (which in real life carries a bunch of these types of ladders of various size) allowing the crew from the ladder truck to throw ladders as if they would do in real life.

Just a thought :)

@ Kana:
You can use each script you want. I am not going to give support how to add them. Mention me somewhere in the readme of your mod for the script in case you're going to release it.

@ erroe:
I've moved your post to the correct topic.
Nice pictures, although I haven't planned to add a slicktop CHP car.

@ firemanzac:
Great idea, but it's not do-able. Even if I could make it possible that a ladder can be positioned in front of a building, fire fighters can't climb it. I have no clue how to make it work that 2 fire fighters can carry one ladder together. It would require new animations and that's not possible. :1046275873_shakehead:

Mod News:
I've changed the helmets for the fire fighters to make them look more like the American firefighting helmets.

Great additions comming for the La mod:) i am really looking forward to it!

but one question, people are always saying that you cant make new animations and that you cant add more events
to the freeplay map. But why is this? how come you cant? how did the creators of Emergency4 do it? there must be a way.

- Events are hardcoded, unless you want to make it completely scripted there are no options to add new events like 16T did.
- There is no plug-ins available which can create animations for Emergency 4 models.

Is it an idea to put a ladder truck in the game. (With the ladder on a trailer)
Because the trailer have a ladder, cars don't ride in him.
You give the truck and the trailer a detach/..... script.

why don't you test it first, and let Hoppah know if it works. Second you cant send units to the map with a trailer attached so the trailer would have to already be on the map, and that would take up alot of room.

Well I tested WolteP's boat trailer, and it's not perfect. With this I mean it has some known bugs:

- Vehicle and trailer can hang together, this means they can be stuck in each other. (hmm you just sayd this do'nt happen, while in my test it did?)
- Boat can get wrongly positioned on trailer if moving the vehicle while load/unloading

But this ain't all I've got to say about it. I don't have anything about suggetions, but DON'T cry you know it works if you don't, because other people will follow you and go on beeging for the same.

Here, why it will not work:

- A boat is not a ladder, the script is not made for that. This would need a totally new script (if even possible)
- A ladder is much much longer then a boat. This means you can forget driving back or even turning on some space, oh and don't forget you'll get stuck 99% of time

I just finished the California Highway Patrol Dodge Charger!
I decided to make a marked version with push bumper and a LED lightbar, because it looks so cool.
The car has the same functions as all other patrol cars except the higher speed.
It has 3 doors (passenger, driver & trunk lid) and about 2.000 polygons including the 4 wheels and the 3 doors.

I know this is wandering away from the topic but about the squad thing, many jurisdictions see a Squad as an Engine with Rescue capabilities. This way when the unit is being dispatched, it is known that it has hurst tools, and other rescue equipment which has to meet the standards for that area. Keeping firefighting and rescue/hazmat capabilities on one piece of apparatus is much more sensible in my opinion. In my department, we operate an engine with a wonderful compliment of tools and it is first due on rescue assignments and 2nd due on fires. Because it is still considered an engine, it has been ordered to move for a rescue before. If only they would reinstate that squad standard again......
