You are suppose to post traffic issues here.
Hoppah, today, announced he is going to release a patch. One of it's features will be changing some paths, which should lower the number of traffic jams.
Keep an eye out in this topic. As Hoppah will post the new patch here, when it's ready. :)

Yeah, I think all of my freeplay and challenge games have ended because of unfixable traffic jams. I do my best to clear them up by redirecting sometimes, but just one messed up intersection seems to have drastic results, and if you don't fix it quickly then it becomes nearly impossible it seems.

Update for me: I followed the tut, which was semi-hard to understand, but I finished the intersection and traffic is pretty smooth... Just that I think having two intersections right near each other will cause some back-up. But, that's a city for ya.

Go to your free play Parameters file and lower your traffic volume. There are about 6 or 7 sections in there and set them about 5 or 10 points below. It works for me. :cheers-mate:

Go to this thread to solve your 4 stuck vehicle problem and be back to normal.

Hello to all fellow Emergency players,
I had been having a ton of issues with too much traffic on the roads while playing the LA MOD Freeplay, all map versions, and I had been trying to figure out how to make less traffic to lessen the ability of having traffic jams like I was dealing with. After looking and looking in these forums there was a post about playing with the fp_params_endless_d and freeplayparameters xml files and making the vehicletrafficfactor less (i.e 1.5 to 0.5). Well after doing this, I noticed a LOT more traffic....thinking that nothing in those would work I decided to abandon those xmls.

Well after dealing with the jams, I eventually got sick of instead of arresting perps and whatnot, all I was dealing with was traffic jams in the intersections. So I went back to the xml files and actually increased them to 6.0, and, to my suprise, it lessoned the traffic significantly, in fact, too much. So I believe that instead of decreasing the number in those above numbers, if you increase them to your liking, it actually works.

Both of those xml's are in the Specs folder, also, make sure that you edit each of the timezones to your liking, there is 9 timezones to edit.

:welcome: to the forums! Thanks, I was wondering why my traffic went up... :gruebel:

I also added the missing traffic lights by the center intersection, and that helped alot.

See you around the forum,

Because the other ones are wicked long, and I didn't want someone have to look through 20+ pages in order to find out their answer.

You have to increase the number instead of decrease. Try it, it might work ;-)

Same here. 3 minutes in I tried to dispatch an engine to a small bush fire, and I had to give it a police escort...by the time it got there, I had to close down multiple lanes of traffic because the blaze was so intense

We understand your intentions, but you are violating the one topic per problem rule. There is a general traffic thread in which this has been explained before. No need to start another topic saying the exact same thing. Topics merged.

Specifically, what happens when you try to edit it?
Do you get a message that says "access denied"? If so, look through here (towards the end)

Do you get an error saying you can't save it?
And do you have Windows Vista?
