Caption on photo:
This is the equipment used by the London Ambulance Service's skateboard response unit (which is part of the cycle unit). The photo shows the ambulance back-pack with essential emergency care equipment, as well as the protective equipment worn by the skater. The board is in European-standard ambulance yellow with LAS wording, crest and NHS logo.

Used in the uk!
This is an ambulance gondola. It is used on the Nevis Mountain Range amongst regular 6-person cable cars that transport people from 300ft to 2150ft in 12 minutes. If a person was injured on the mountainside, this specialist gondola is added to the system and moved to directly above the casualty. From there they can be winched up into it and then transported back down the mountain to safety.

Never understood how not having a basket makes it easier? Seems like it would be the other way around.A tiller usually refers to the tractor drawn aerial ladder that many departments still operate, here's an example of one from LA. http://upload.wikime...adder_truck.jpg
many FDs from major cities operate these because they tend to have a longer reach than most of the tower units, as well as not having a bucket to interfere with the extrication of someone from a balcony or window.
Those are pretty common in the states I believe. You only see them in high traffic areas for parking enforcement but still very common.

In fact if you watch this video you can see this in action:
This video is of the Raleigh Fire Department's Station 1, at the station are Engine 1, Engine 13, and Ladder 4 *Formerly Ladder 1*, which had a crash in June taking a corner too fast and flipped.
