I was just wondering, what tactics do you guys use when playing the LAmod freeplay?
I usually start the game off by assigning the Battalion Chief to a hotkey, then I send out two police cruisers and two ALS ambulances to patrol the city.
If I feel like it, I might place a few police cruisers or bikes on certain points around town where I know trouble often arises, and they'll be needed quickly.
When a incident appears, I use my Battalion Chief on the hotkey to assign units to the locations, or if a unit is real close by, I just direct them to it manually.

How do you play? Any interesting tactics, deployments, ways to handle situations etc?
Please feel free to share them! :)

I do it really really weird...

I load up station, staff my Ladder with 2 normal ff 2 SCBA FFs, 1 PM and a USAR FF
I have an emergency response center for earthquakes
a Dispatcher...
a BC at each station

Like 25 LAPD Units patroling
10 CHP
a LASD Transport Van, with LASD Escort
and also a repair center....

want more info on this stuff?
Or want to know how I do my calls? ask, and I shall explain!

Thats too much man... and don't you have to cheat to get that freaken many?

People need to test their self and beat the online scores.
You can't call yourself a true E4 player without playing the game hardcore...
Plus it realism too!

What?! :1046275923_scared:

Your game must come to a grinding halt, not to mention the traffic nightmares that causes.

My game play is to first take the BC out of his SUV and put him somewhere out of the way giving him hotkey 1, (and then use him to dispatch all units). I then send the BC SUV, (with the extra FF), off the map back to HQ. Then I send each truck and ambulance out of the station to the tarmac, (turning off the deck gun for the pumps), and then send them back to the station so they unload their men.

After that is done I send 3 police cars, (typically the Charger, the SUV and then a slicktop), out on patrol and request a new BC SUV with only the BC in it. I send the new BC SUV back to the station and assign him hotkey 2.

I have made the initial call time longer than standard so it allows me some time to get all this done.

Well I don't have to worry about grpahics issues, my dad bought a top of the ,ine computer, so he could play one game, which he has since stopped, so I use my like super powered machine to run Em4, and well the road on the St1 I close that off with redirection in the South Bound lane, and other than the occasional traffic collision between two cruisers, I usually have no traffic problems.. In fact ever since I closed the SB lane in front of Station one, I have never had a major traffic jam...

Like many, I assign a BC to stand near the FS1 Control panel and assign him to Hotkey #1. I then send a County squad with 2 Medics and a Diver to the south east corner of the Freeplay map to load up the small boat. After that 2 PD Motor units get assigned to Hotkey 3 and patrol. These guys are my traffic control dudes since motor units can get to places easier and faster then cars. Then I send 3 or 4 PD units, 2 Crown vics, 2 Slicktops usually, out on patrol assigned to hot key 2. When a PD incident comes up, I press 2 and point and voila, units and backup on scene and I still have the 2 motor units patrolling. The next thing I do is send a car with 2 LASD deputies to the hospital for security, and call in a PD helo assigned to #6 to land at the PD station.

I've also edited my freeplay events to suit my wants, and one thing that many of you might enjoy is to edit the <EFPEventFlashStrike> to <DamageRadius value = "5000.0" /> or larger to have a massive fire once in a while. You'll see a huge chunk of your map turn bright red when that hits

Mike.

I also use a BC hotkeyed to dispatch units. When initial the alarm is sounded, I take the BC that is called have have him stand in the back of FS1. I then send the EMT driver for the BC and back into the station. I then sound the alarm again and I get another BC and a EMT to staff the SUV. I usually have 4 regular LAPD cars patrolling the map with two cops each. Like MikesPhotos I send a LACo squad with 2 PMs and a diver to the SE corner to man the boat. I also have a unstaffed PD helicopter and a air ambulance staffed with a PM stretcher team on their respective landing pads.

i load both stations up completely

might keep a few pd units stationed at locations i know theres trouble just for the purposes of reducing lag and hastening responce time so if theres like a riot, doesnt get that bad. if i get a fire, i attack it with overwhelming and often unneeded force; thats one of the reasons im one of the best fire dept players in world. fire spreads fast, and if you attack with everything from all angles, it either puts it out or if its like a forest fire, keeps it contained and might cut the fire in half depending on how many planes and tenders i use. then its just a matter of keeping it contained until it burns up fuel and dies

i usually have 1-3 EMS cars out patroling just to respond to medical emers quickly. comes in handy if theres a fire i KNOW is gonna keep me contained for a LONG time i just send the car to a med emer to keep the person good till i can send ambos out. 1 car - 3 FF/PMs | 2 cars - 2 in one and 3 in the other | 3 cars - 2 in 2 cars and 3 in the other.

i usually dont use the BC; i only send him out on big calls, calls i deem realistic, or calls i think might eventually need backup.

and thats just in freeplay. multiplayer is about 100000x more advanced

i dont use edited freeplay values cause i always ending up screwing it up (the editing) and end up having to do some impossible task to fix it :P

Here what I do first.... Send out an unit for the call. If I'm luckly if its a Medic Call.
Because give me time to setup... Then I set up my patrol unit that are...

PD
3 LAPD Squad Cars
2 LASD Squad Cars
2 State Squad Cars
Sometime one of faster Squad Cars
Sometime or later a LAPD SUV with Swat team inside.

EMS
All the BLS and ALS ambulances (I do not Buy any more ambulances than that is given.)

Stand Alone and Support units I send in next.

FD
I Launch a Boat with a diver then place it a mouth of river. (In Deluxe: I place a Fireman and search dog team in boat also.)
Place Equipment Truck behind the Fire Station. Till its needed...

EMS
Place a EMS Car at Gas Station near police station to heal cops.

Tech
Place Tech Van at Gas Station near police station to repair squad cars.

Gameplay
I DO NOT CHEAT with cheat codes.
I rarely ask any new Fire Engines. Only if fire is too huge. Then I will call more in.
I buy the unit that haven't been given. Like Tech Crane and Bomb Squad.
I do not ever buy a Fire Plane. Waste of money.
If extra money? I will buy other units...

The gameplay goes mostly perfect.... Maybe fail one or two... Play Freeplay over an hour till I don't want to play any more. Have no major problem unless a bug happens. Rarely have the game fail me in challenge mode.

Pretty much a fun game.

My Tactics aren't very good..
POLICE:
Homicide/Theft/Pickpocket/ShopLifting/Situations when you gotta follow suspect and not let him get out of the city
I Send helicopter/police car after the suspect and when he stop i send the cops to arrest him
Riot/Illegal demonstration:
I Send SWAT(with water cannon if i have), LASD Van for putting all rioters, or Mass casualty unit(if i kill the rioters) and firetruck
if there much rioters that gonna burn the place.
FIRE:
Fires on one object: i send fire plane because im lazy
Fires on buildings: i send firetruck and sometimes a plane
ACCIDENTS:
I Send Shears of life, paramedics and stretcher and enough place for all injured civis
BOMBS: i fail most of the times arresting the bomber, but i disarm the bomb..

I too assign my BC to Hotkey 1,then i grab a helimed chopper, police chopper, and rescue chopper, asign them to ther own seperate hotkeys, then i send a police patrol to carpark near freeway,so when u get the accident under the bridge i can shut that side down as if u dont cars get trapped and if u try to direct them away they get trapped under bridge,i have edited mine so i get lightning strikes, gas expo fires, traffic accidents, and medic incidents, also i have edited the damage, the gas fires are huge, takes all my fire department to deal with, and road closures to cope with it,finally have another 2 police cars waiting at station for accidents and traffic direction

Please read it all before quote me.

I dont have Emergency 4 yet, but i already figured out witch units i wants to patrol, and how much.
2 LAPD Black and Whites driving around the city.
1 LAPD Undercover.
Then an LASD Patrol vehicle around the country
And then if its able to change witch inicents that can come i would:
Police: All situations.
Paramedics: Medical Inicent, Crazed Rampage (He would possible shoot some civilians), Fires that contains casualities.
LAFD:
Fire: Cause Unknown
Fire: A cigarette has been thrown away
Crazed Rampage (Possible shoots vehicles at wrong places -.- )
Any kind of explotion EXEPT: Gas Explotion (Im not a proffesional, i cant handle it. My tactic for it is very good, but i cant control it.)
Tactic of Fire: Lets say that a car blown near a little round forrest. I will surround the forrest and connect fire hoses to create a circle around it.

Police Tactics: Crazed Rampage: I will call two LAPD Cruisers down there (Or up :P ) and block of the area/road. I will then get the officers that is too lazy to do anything (lol) arrest the suspect(s)

Paramedic Tactics: Medical Inicent: Lets say the medical inicent have been out for 5 minutes. Ill call a Emergency Ambulance over there quick. An ambulance will be called over when the person is confirmed alive. All after the situation there possible will come a police cruiser to escort the ambulance if the inicent is critical.

Thanks for attention :D

when starting the freeplay game;

Firestation 1 fully staffed with 4 x Engines, 1 x Ladder, 1 x Heavy Rescue, and 3 x ALS Ambulances.
1 x Batalion Chief SUV - with BC and Paramedic HOTKEY 1
1 x EMS Car (SUV edited to same as BC) - with EMS Captain and Paramedic HOTKEY 2
1 x Heavy Equipment Squad - with 2 Paramedics and diver when required HOTKEY 3

Firestation 2 fully staffed as standard with 1 x Engine, 1 x Hazmat, and 1 x BLS Ambulance

I send 1 x Rescue Helicopter to the hospital staffed with 2 Paramedics and 1 stretcher team (able to transport 2 patients if required).

Police Station staffed with 1 x LAPD Charger and 5 x LAPD Patrol cars parked at the police station awaiting request for back up or manual dispatch.
1 x CHP charger and 1 x CHP Patrol car or 2 x LAPD motorcycles on patrol. HOTKEY 4
1 x Police Helicopter at station with 1 Negotiator, 1 Scout, 2 SWAT officers and 1 SWAT Sharpshooter.

1 x Coast Guard Helicopter with Mechanic. HOTKEY 5

Firestation 1 control panel HOTKEY 6 to restaff EMS car and Heavy equipment Squad between calls.

This seems to work quite well for me.

Take care

Shane

The hotkeys are numbers 1-6,you can assign different ppl or vehicles to these keys,so u can call on and direct them to the incidents immediatley, have the BC on a hotkey meens you can select fire police and medic stuff easily, helps a lot.
Also with the gas fire incidents a good method which is employed,is too cool the buildings around the main area, and use your fire fighters to work from outer fire points and work inwards,as you put differrent parts out you also move the other firefighters into cool those area's so they do not re-ignite,i think this is the tactic that is used in real firefighting, but im sure others know this better than me,as some here are actual firefighters in real life

I usually send out 3-5 LAPD cruisers to patrol, plus an unmarked cruiser.

I also send out my ambulances all on patrol one at a time so they don't get to bunched up.

For fires I try to stay realistic by sending decent amounts of trucks (for a regular house fire send 3 engines, a rescue and a ladder). and for accidents I send either an engine and a light equipment, or a rescue (depending on the severity)

I don't have any special tactics, and I don't know how to use the hotkeys yet. But otherwards I try and park everything/make everything as realistic as possible.

I think everyone else's ideas/tactics are awesome!

I send about 10 marked LAPD/LASD cruisers (two of which are SUVs), two unmarks and two motorcycles (one cruiser will stay at the station). I then send 3 port authority units to key areas in the south, the smaller SWAT truck to the hospital, two FBI cruiser to the north (where people protest) and a bomb truck to the center area.
Oh, and if there are about two or three fires in the area and i'm having to call off-screen help, I'll call for extra police units, mainly SWAT trucks (or if i'm feeling different, National guard units lol)

I used to only send ambulances and fire engines on patrol if there was not enough space in the station, but I haven't really played LA mod since the release of V1.7 and this might change.
