I cannot find the spec requirements for the mod, but chances are they arent that insane. With any mod that includes custom content unless you go off the hook with sending in tons of vehicles it should run fine on it. If you can get away with upgrading the ram to 8GB that wouldnt hurt though.

Lcpdfr is a script for playing as police officer. As such it will not be that demanding on it selfI cannot find the spec requirements for the mod, but chances are they arent that insane. What will need additional resource is els, certain car mods, and other modification. For gta I will just be doing lcpdfr
Plain stock gta4 with lcpdfr sure be more problem on Windows Vista or newer pc. Xp support has been dropped, expect on older versions of lcpdfr but these versions are no longer support them self.

goodluck. Most machines ship with 8 now, which once you get over the start menu being strange is perfectly fine. Believe it or not in most instances you pay more for the windows 7 version than the windows 8 version of the machine. The only compatibility issues I've ran across in win8 is related to things that don't work in Vista+ either, ms-dos based applications. Every other type of program you can get the Visual Basic packages and DirectX packages to run on win8 just as easy as Vista/7.

In regards to Windows 8, I'd have to agree with MikeyPI. The start menu is really the only pain, but with the Windows 8.1 update, they kinda fixed some of the really frustrating issues, returning/adding some of the "desktop" features to the MetroUI itself. On a side note, Windows 9 10 looks like a good return to the traditional desktop, but with a bit of MetroUI mixed in a better way (IMO). In regards to compatibility regarding my experience with Windows 8.1, I've had no problem running any applications that would've run on Windows XP, except for the ms-dos apps. I wish those would run in some cases, but it's not really necessary for most (i.e. 99.9%) of what I do.
Windows 8 is cheaper than Windows 7 in most cases I've seen, and with the (negligible, IMO) differences between the two, I'd stick with Windows 8 for a new computer. Just my $0.02.

Haha that's right. My bad, I was referring to 10 but but forgot about the version number skip. You are absolutely correct.
