I think I should include a civillian F550 in the mod. Might make it easier for other modders to make ambulances.

I have a question though...what is the difference between say an F350 and an F550?

Ford F550 is larger, different grill and small other differences.

The real differences between the series tend to be minimal, however a F-550 is generally much beefed up in performance in suspension for a work-duty setup, meaning that the ride height of a 550 is higher than the 250/350 series, thus why all 550's have the tire well flare standard, with the bumper extended outward from the body, this is to conceal/support the beefed up wheel/suspension added to the 550 chassis.  The rest of the body dimensions to my knowledge remain the same for a 350/550, not unlike a chevy 1500-3500 truck/van, the outward differences are pretty unremarkable, it's mainly in the performance parts like powertrain and suspension.

Coming from a country that doesnt really have big American sized pick up trucks, your post gives insight into the differences of trucks there.
The most common thing you'd see over here used by emergency services would be this:

That is very beautiful. I hope that the effort I put into it helps make the mod better :)

This behind the scenes perspective is a good idea. Helps to appreciate the level of work modders have to do just for one vehicle :)
