Busy day at Central station today.

1st call at 08:22 to Automatic Fire Alarm at Tronic House Computers. K01P1 and K01P2 responded. An investigation was made of the building, and the cause of the alarm was a faulty detector head.






2nd call of the day for K01P2 at 09:33. The ambulance service were requesting assistance with an elderly female shut in a lift suffering from breathing problems. Crews used small gear to release the female and she was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.





3rd call came in at 12:40 from a frantic house owner who had left a pan on the stove whislt on the telephone. When he returned the pan was alight and the house full of smoke. K01P1 and K01P2 responded and requested the attendance of an ambulance for the house owner who was suffering from smoke inhalation.

The man was treated on the scene but refused hospital treatment.

Fire crews used 2 Breathing Apparatus, 1 Co2 extinguisher and a positive pressure ventilation fan.





Crews were back at Central by 13:30, and K01P2 was out again at 14:45 to assist Seaford the nearby retained station with an RTC. The incident involved one private motor vehicle which had left the roadway and come to rest between a tree and rocks. The occupant suffered minor injuries and was treated by the ambulance service and conveyed to hospital. Fire crews made the scene safe.

The last call of the shift came at 17:10, to reports of smoke issuing from a derelict church due for demolition.

K01P1 and K01P2 arrived to find a severe fire in the roof space and bell tower of the church. A "make pumps 5, turntable ladder required" was passed.

Central were joined by K02P1 and K02P2 from Northern station, K01A1 and K05P3 from Seaford. Centrals Station Commander along with the Command Support Unit and Command Unit vehicles.

4 main jets and one turntable ladder monitor were in use. Crews worked in defensive mode throughout due to the unsafe structure of the building.

Amtrak reports suspected drugs in buses and nearby dealers, Amtrak police and LAPD Drug Sniffers arrive on scene.

The dogs sniff around and find a bus with drugs. The car is emptied and taken to LAPD HQ.

A man-hunter K-9 arrives and finds the drug dealer after a search.

A bus driver asks a passenger to leave the bus immediately for smoking.

The passenger refuses and Amtrak Police Supervisors are dispatched.

The man is asked to leave before he is arrested and leaves.

On a beautiful sunny morning a little blue car was about to turn right onto a main road. But with the sun being so bright, it became a blind-spot. So the little blue car turned right anyways. Well down the road, the light had turned green. Those vehicles were flooring it to get up to speed. But the little blue car pulled out into the road and side swiped the little orange car just perfectly. Soon enough a major accident had happened resulting in multiple cars piling up along with a coach bus! Well a bystander called in the accident...And here it goes:

The OSHP were first on scene. Their station was only a few blocks away from crash and had began to respond before the call.

The officers immediately began to run to help the victims and care for the injured!

Moments later- Ravenna Twp. fire chief and brush truck arrived for a helping hand

Engine 9 and 2414 both arrived on scene.

Once noticing the magnatude of the event, the chief called for extra support from rescue and the MCU.

The MCU arrived with the Ravenna Twp., NEAS, and Ravenna City ambulances.

The victims began receiving treatment as the firemen began to search and remove the trapped victims still lying in their vehicles.

Once noticing the giant coach bus being flipped the firemen and EMTs began to assist in removing the victims to safety.

Engine 2414 was then called out upon another call. Rescue was released to return to station with the brush truck.

Now making room the rescue crane to make way into the crash to remove any rolled or over/underride vehicles. ODOT had arrived with the crane.

Engine 9 stayed at scene for support in clearing the debris and wrecked vehicles. AAA towing service arrived to remove the damaged vehicles just as CNN arrived also.

But CNN was too late..
