Heeeey! What's up you guys!


After I got some requests I finally decided to open up a new topic with all the modding tutorials I've done so far.

Some things are beginner, some are intermediate level.
Instead of posting all my instructions 300 times in several topics, this could be a "first aid modding topic" - not an FAQ but at least all my tutorials in one place!

New files added to the download section have to be approved by an admin, so you won't be able to see or download them until they get approved.

Rettungstier, I know about image editing etc, I meant getting them ready and putting them back in the game

All the tutorials I have seen do not tell me what to do properly. I've been re-skinning the original EM4 and when I replace the .dds files with my edited one, the skins are the same.

yeah i think i'll work something out.
there's a lot of questions every week again on how to unlock skins, how to get em working in game etc.

i'll write it down tomorrow and load it up as another pdf file!
maybe one of the other announced tutorials too!

It would be cool if you post a tutorial of lighting. Because im not the best at it and i want to create poly's for the lightbar but i dont know how to do that!?

Awesome, I've been wondering how to do freeplay events for a while. Thanks. Also can't wait for the gates one because it might help me with an idea I want to incorporate with a mod I'm helping with.

Please could you do a detailed tutorial for replacing units? Say for example I wanted to replace the LAPD Patrol Car with a NYPD Cruiser from the NY Mod?

How would I go about renaming the files etc?

just rename everything to the name of the LAPD Patrol Car...

La police car:
LAPolice01

your car:
NYPDCruiser

rename the NYPDCruiser to LAPolice01

traffic lights, automated gates and a detailed description to replace vehicles in an existing mod will be the next (as pdf) available tutorials.
no promises but i think i can upload them tomorrow!!

i think about making a lighting tutorial too, that would be a video then - maybe a series of videos.
that'll take more time than just writing everything down so be patient!
