the LRAD is on the docket to replace the water cannon vehicle that the game originally had, just a complicated thing to do so we'll see if we can get the scripting right on it.

The helicopter that is completed is an AS 565 Panther/Dauphin.

These helicopters will replace the present or will be in addition?

Sounds good, I was hoping you'd replace the water cannon soon.

They will be replacing the fictional helicopters that currently exist with more appropriate helicopters for the region that are actually used by the departments roaming around... NYC is a city so you typically see the HH-65 more than the HH-60 operating within the region... The Jayhawk can roam NYC but most often over urban environments you'll see the smaller dauphin doing the job.

The other two helicopters currently in the mod are just fake reskins/mods on the A-star, neither are legitimate nor accurate. Replacing them is a priority for me.

The LRAD project was put off till the next version (the current one) due to the complications in it, if we made it just look like a LRAD and still be a water cannon it'd work fine, but because we do not want water spraying from the dish it requires scripting... We'll see how that goes.

Notice how I am talking about US Coast Guard AIR Stations. There are hundreds of USCG stations in the US however there are only 24 AIR Stations, none of which are physically located in New York City or State.

You beat me to it ;)

haha I had wanted to join the Coast Guard for a while, more specifically the aviation sector of it for a good while so I learned quite a bit. Just trying to pass that knowledge on and help keep the NY Mod accurate.

Very nice, I think the Dolphin looks better than the Jayhawk. Cant wait to see it. :gut:

When I download the mod, extract the files to my desktop and subsequently try to install via the Mod Installer, it says the Mod package is corrupted?

Is there any chance this is on my end? or is it a problem with the download itself?

Delete your internet files and try to download it again... Unfortunately it does happen sometimes where it says the mod package is corrupted, usually it's from an incomplete download... I've had it happen to me a few times with mods.

We need the assistance of anyone who might be able to, we are doing an LRAD for the next version however, we can't find a picture of the driver side that is actually any good... I've worked off of what we could find for it, but the one picture that was located is very blurry so details and worst of all where CPR is written on the Driver's side is a mystery to us.. IF anyone is from NYC and can get a picture of the side of the LRAD DCU Humvee or has a picture of it that is reasonably decent resolution we'd appreciate it since it'll help guarentee the thing is accurate.

It's the problem we have no damned clue where the thing is really kept at, we believe it roams since there is only one of them... It is DCU 6703... we honestly don't know where they keep the thing at, we believe it roams different precients but I can't say how accurate that is.. We require the DRIVER side only, particularly the box secton where the crap on the back is... It's a custom-modified mil humvee so it's reasonably accurate already, I just want to ensure come the next version nobody'll say we didnt do it right when we had insufficient sources for how that driver side looks... The rest is accurate to as we found pictures of all other sides... Being there is only one it'll probrably come down to someone having to find the thing IN NY and take a pic of it=-(

Haha they are a lot sleeker looking, plus the state police here operate civilian variations of the Dolphin so I have become fond of them in my years of seeing them flying overhead
