Its an 2008 BMW 3 series, what motor it is, you can off course not see from this picture...

Different bumpers are used on different "models" of the same year,when 238I was added, his bumper came up more frequently... No different than american vehicles, specific packages goto specific "models" of a car. Look up R/T vs. SE.. each has it's own engine.
