Does this only happen to me? When I pull out an Apple device from a 5-hour recharge 10 minutes later the battery dies X_X

My Palm Pilot did something like that back in the days. I called the guy who sold it to me and he said something along the lines of "serves you right for buying crap".

Hehe, thats what she said :) But yeah, that will happen. But once its done, its done. You cant reset it unless you get a new battery or device.
