Is there a way to play EM4 in Window Mode and not fullscreen?

Sorry if its been mentioned before but I did do a search but nothing came up.

So, what is it the fire fighters do? Do they wait a block away before going to the station to get the truck? Nope. 10 or 12 guys go into the Station, put their gear on, and 6 of them jump in the Pump. The rest, they stay in the building in case they need the Rescue. So, Pump 1 responds from 119 Bertie St to 119 Bertie St, but, they have to follow protocol. So, they drive around they block, and stage at the corner, waiting for police to clear the building they just left.

As far as I know there is no way to run EM4 in window. If you want to use communication tools I advise XFIRE with you can run in game.
Oh thats a shame, thanks anyway!

Facepalm - Apply directly to the forehead. If it isn't a Boeing, you shouldn't be going.

I know i posted this before, but how can you play 911FR in Window Mode?!
You all said you cannot play it in Window Mode, but surely there must be a way? Nothing is impossible!

no one on the forum can tell you!
it seems that it is hard scripted ant sixteen tons entertainment don't want to release a patch
they say that it is impossible
if you have 2 screens you can play EM 4 on a screen and something else on the second screen

Where did you read it is hardcoded? Do you actually understand what 'hardcoded' means? Please give me the EXACT link to your source, because I don't believe you.

Answer:
Go to your 911FR directory and open em4.cfg with WordPad or Notepad.
Search for the following line:
<var name="r_fullscreen" value="1" />Change the value to 0, so it looks like this
<var name="r_fullscreen" value="0" />Save the file and start the game now.
I have not tested that, but I think it should work.

edit:
I tried it too and it does not seems to work indeed, but I am still curious to stefanvp's source ofcourse. That code is not hardcoded, it's bugged.

Yeah...being an experienced coder, I can tell you all (except Hoppah, he already knows) that it is definitely not hard coded. I am going to play around with the codes a bit to see if I can get it to work...I am still curious to stefanvp's source ofcourse. That code is not hardcoded, it's bugged.

Worst case scenario; you just write a script that will limit the size of the program screen. It would be a moderately difficult script, but it can be done.
I am going to try to write it up and will post it here if I get it to work
EDIT: Might I bring up this thread...this one here
