We added that in at one point but removed it as it seemed less realistic

thought it would be more realistic, given that on scene of fire the men will know excatly their roles? so surely quick deployment is good, as they'd know they have to grab the hoses and plug in :)

I think it depends on your preference as opposed to realism.

Strictly speaking, you are right, everyone on scene would know what to do.

On the other hand, I feel like it misses the point of the game, you are meant to be in control of all the units, and if you have a basic fire it takes only 5 clicks to complete a mission;

1. Select FF truck
2. Send to location
3. Rapid deployment
4. Rapid (un)deployment
5. HQ

I much prefer sending out a truck for example, and only using two hoses, while the 2 other FF'S either move peds or grab SCBA & extinguishers to run inside with.

Like i say, i think its all preference.

(I don't know if you have tried editing/modding, but you could always extract the script etc from Hoppahs mod once this is out and place it on your own so you have the option.

I'm sure if you made a thread for it someone would give you a step by step on how to do it anyway)

I use rapid deployment some of the time and I find it really useful when there's lots of big things going on and you don't have to time to do it manually.
But when there's not much going on I like to do it manually. :)

So it might as well be in the mod and those who like to use it can, and those who don't can do it their way.

That's true, obviously it's up to the guys creating it whether they include it, but like I say, if anyone is that desperate for it they can just edit it into the mod themselves.

The makers of this mod could actually just take the script and modify it for these units, if they mention Hoppah's name when releasing.

Since Hoppah said:

...Because I honestly don't really care about my creations anywmore, people are allowed to take, change and release whatever they want from the Los Angeles Mod...

(some other text, but quoting it all would take up unnecessary space. Read the whole text in case of that you want to include some LA Mod stuff in your mod)

...The only other thing I ask from you need is to mention my nickname when you take something

That whole text (the one from Hoppah that i just quoted) can be found here.

Check out my public mod, Honolulu Modification
I speak Swedish, Finnish, English and German (only a little German).

The massive image has been removed. Refer to the ToS for acceptable sizes.

. They have already had it in the mod they just took it out so I assume they already know how to.

Do the paramedics on the ambulances also have a ability to heal?
It can get quite frustrating having to send a vehicle (ambulance) and car (solo responce) to every incident. It would be much more realistic if the paramedics on the ambulances can have the ability to heal aswell has have a stretcher. That way, for example, someone who has just had a fall doesn't get every man and his dog turning up.

Also, I posted a month or so ago about the london Firefighters, asking if you were going to update the fire gear to the new style.

But due to a bit of an arguement caused (which, as a professional firefighter, I kept my opinions to myself on here), the question was forgotten about.

It would be a great shame to see a mod that has had so much hard work put into it be out of date (by quite a big factor).

Hi all,

This will be the last ‘unit’ to be placed in v0.2

Metropolitan Police ‘Marine Policing Unit’ Landrover Defender.

And these will be the last ‘changes’ made to the mods personnel!

We now just need to add some ‘cosmetic’ changes to the Mod and tidy up afew loose ends, and with a bit of luck, we’ll have v0.2 out some time in February.

Thanks for your patience,

Regards

Another great update.

Just wondering on the marine unit, will it have a boat that can be taken from it and put in the water (similar to the swift water rescue of the LA MOD) or is it just simply transport for the divers and crew?

I have tried reading most pages and have not recalled seeing anything about motorbikes, would either the police or ambulance service have any of these in the mod?

Does this mod allow you to have a police unit equip with the traffic jacket using the equip button with the vehicle like in the LA Mod?

Thanks for making this mod it looks awesome :)
