Whenever I try to import a map floor into the emergency 4 editor, I get this error.
(I dowwnloaded the floors in JPG format from the EMP downloads centre)
Incase you cant read it: [Heightmap is too large, must be a maximum of 513 x 513]

Any ideas?

You are probably trying to import a floor and you do it through heightmap importing dialog. Be careful and read the manual section about this again. If that is not the case, I dont know. But from what I see, I am 99 percent sure.

are u trying to use it in the editor while its still in Jpg form? because it has to be converted into a targa (TGA) format so the editor can turn it into an .eft file.

if not, i dont know

It will get converted automatically, there is no need to convert it externally. You need to IMPORT it - then it gets converted - and then you LOAD it. These are two separate things. And a heightmap is totally different thing.
