It took a while but I have some more news about version 1.8.
There won't be any new missions in v1.8, but I am busy with improving current features in the mod.
One of the features are improvements to the commands to call additional vehicles.
All cars that can be called by one of these commands have a stand-by command now.
Cars that are on stand-by will act like a parked vehicle at a fire station or the police station.
That means they can be called by one of the commands to call additional vehicles.
Another improvement is that these commands will really call the closest vehicle now, no matter it's on patrol, on stand-by or parked at the fire/police stations.
An even better improvement is that the stand-by command also works in multiplayer and missions!
This means the battalion chief and EMS captain can be usefull in the missions as well.
The final improvement to these commands is that a new vehicle plus crew will be bought when there is no vehicle available after using a command to call an additional vehicle.
This won't work in multiplayer to prevent people from screwing other people by calling 100 cars by themselve.
There is more news about v1.8!
MikeyPI build a whole Cadillac DTS fleet. You will find 5 different versions of the Cadillac DTS in the mod.
2006 Cadillac DTS Sedan (in Black, White and Silver)
This one will replace some civilian cars in the game.
2006 Cadillac DTS Limousine
This one will replace the original limousine in the game
From left to right:
2006 Cadillac DTS U.S. State Department Diplomat Limousine.
2006 Cadillac DTS U.S. State Department Armoured Diplomat Limousine
2006 Cadillac DTS U.S. State Department Presidential Limousine
The black limousines don't replace any existing car and only the Armoured Limousine will be used in the mod so far.
It will replace the limousine used in the 'VIP Escort' mission.

Nice to hear it, but on what cars does the improvment back-up call affect
If you still don't know which cars can be called by a command:All cars that can be called by one of these commands have a stand-by command now.
RTFM - Read The F** Manual
There are plans to replace more civilians cars. Are you going to post that each time then? This is a very good news Hoppah. But can you replace ot modifi some of these 2006 Cadillac DTS Sedan (in Black, White and Silver) to undercover black car with siren in the mod? With one blue ot red siren up (outside the roof)? Like a undercover detective car/
I don't like that light and there is already an unmarked car (and 100's of other police vehicles) in the mod, so the answer is no.
Your post has been deleted, because this is not the suggestions topic.

I'm curious to know why the unarmored State Department limo has a Dutch flag. Aren't we supposedly in LA? If you changed the VIP mission general to the Dutch prime minister/president (don't know what you call him) that would be a different story.
P.S. All we need now is a Cadillac Escalade.

You have to do it yourself. Incorporating it to the move command doesn't work ofcourse. You don't want to call vehicles which just arrived at a scene for example.Great!!! So, will I have to put the vehicles in standby by clicking a command or will they automaticly go into standby? If not, you could incorporate the standby command into the end of the move script.
The good thing about the stand-by command is that you can set up your own spots to position vehicles on the map and use the commands to call them.

I was thinking more along the lines of a mission. Let's say I have my RA arriving at the scene. I use the EMS captain to send them when I need them. Is it not possible to add the command to the end of the move script or have you just not chosen to do it?You have to do it yourself. Incorporating it to the move command doesn't work ofcourse. That particular model is not going into the escort mission, the escort mission uses the heavier armored vehicle that carries the USMC flag on it, the army one did not look as cool.
The Cadillac Escalades are just like the GMC/Chevrolet Equivalent in practically every way, just change the grilles, add some trim here and there, and replace the taillights and you have a cadillac now. I am not in a hurry to do it.
So their flag was thrown on the vehicle:)

Mikey, wery nice new models. Also, Hoppah, I like the fact that you're open to replacing such small things such as civillian cars to increase the realisim of the mod.LA Mod v1.8 news!

Hoppah, this 'standby' thing sounds like an exciting addition, but I'm having trouble understanding it...how is this any different than just parking the vehicle somewhere manually and turning off the emergency lights?

i might be wrong but my impression is that the standby command turns off the lights and park it automatic instead of doing it manually as we do now

I think this is how it will work (I could be wrong though). You send a "callable" vehicle somewhere on the map. When it gets there you press the "standby" command. The vehicle then goes into standby. Its just sitting there until, A) you tell it to do something else (move, exit passengers etc. etc.), or B) you call it from a Battalion Chief, EMS supervisor, or police officer. It is different in the way that the vehicles are "callable" wherever they might be on the map, if you have activated standby on them. They don't have to be on patrol or parked at a station.Hoppah, this 'standby' thing sounds like an exciting addition, but I'm having trouble understanding it...how is this any different than just parking the vehicle somewhere manually and turning off the emergency lights?
@ Hoppah, is there any way to have the RAs returning from the hospital to a station callable? I know MikesPhotos said somewhere that the RAs are put back in service once they drop off the patient, restock the medical supplies and decon the ambulance.

As for the "standby" mode, it's basically like patrol except they just sit still. In Buffalo we call it "posting". Instead of having 5 ambulances drive around your city aimlessly, just put them on a corner. Call goes out, closest posted unit responds.
"Fire Police"? Isn't that an oxymoron?
You laugh, but when I'm performing Fire Police duty, I have all the rights of a peace officer, including that of detaining someone or ordering them, legally, to leave a scene. And in NYS, the term "when performing duties" is quite vague.. It's not just when I'm directing traffic. I've ordered people to leave EMS scenes before.
the main reason for fire police is for volunteer departments to be able to help keep there membership busy rather than loosing them as soon as their too old to go into a burning building. volunteer departments also have fire police for the reason above.
That's a faux pas.. I'm almost 25, and I've been FP for almost 5 years. Many members at halls in my area are younger but trained in FP duties. It's a duty that HAS to be done at a scene, and yes, the older members tend to fill it because it is less physically demanding. But it's not JUST for old guys.. Look at me, 25 and doing it. Old guys are still going strong.. We have a guy who is over 80 who drives ambulances (slowly, but he drives them. lol) Two of our best driver/pump ops are over 60. Our EMS Chief is over 60, our Assistant Fire Chief is well over 50 and he's interior command for all our workers. Him and Rutledge are two of our best, most experienced firefighters, and Rutledge is late 50s or early 60s. The guy is also a former Marine and works out every morning from 4-6am while drinking hot tea and listening to Enya. One of his exercises is suspending his ankles from a horizonal pole and doing vertical situps. Seriously, the guy is a machine.
Recently, a car tried to blow past some fire police at an accident in a neighboring district and almost struck two firefighters. One FP member threw his maglite at the car, smashing a window. Another FP member hopped in his car and gave chase, following the lady home. They were able to prove it was her due to the make/model and window damage, and he detained her on the spot until the SD showed up. She was charged with DUI and reckless endangerment. Think about THAT next time you pass by some fire police controlling a scene. *hardcore face*
