Yes, I am not Hoppah, but I can answer for him

Since the Engines(1 & 2) now have the water cannon, the Water Tender was not nessecary. It is still in game, however, just it isn't at any station, it has been replaced with USAR because that has different functions.

Hoppah, If I mistated anything wrong here, could you correct me, but I am pretty sure I am right :)

Water cannon is pointless for fires other than structure fires because most people use them just on little brush fires because its easy, takes the fun out of the game.
USAR is cool but I only use that really for cutting down trees on forest fires :P

Using a watercannon on a vehicle fire is not fun for me, I like sending ambulances police and multiple fire engines just because for me it is so much more fun.

I believe the biggest factor for the removal was the fact that LAFD only has 3 or 4 water tenders, so it is a very rarely used apparatus. With the removal of the jaws from the Engines, it makes more sense to have a USAR Squad available to provide extraction tools.

bearing in mind that the water tender used in game is a foam tender in real life.

It's also renamed to Foam Tender in v1.7. :)

That doesn't mean it sprays foam now...
Foam is made of water. The foam tender in real life is also capable of spraying water only.
And no, it's NOT possible to create foam in this game.

Newfoundking is right, this USAR Squad has different equipment like the jaws of life.
And the LAFD doesn't use the foam tender in real life very often. :)

edit:
Forgot to add the LAX Crash Tender to the unit pages on my website, so I just added it under LAFD.
Hit F5 (=refresh) if you can't find it.

okay, I'm not sure if I read this right, but you said IT's possible as in like you can do it. Now is this a typo or can you actually...

And maybe the best news! Here's the BETA version of the manual for the Los Angeles mod v1.7!

Size: 2,7 MB

Notes:
It's a BETA version, what means this version will not come with LA MOD v1.7, because we still need to add some texts and fix mistakes.
This manual is created for version 1.7. A lot has been changed, so do not report things like 'vehicle x is missing equipment'.
I released the manual so people have something to read before I will release the real Los Angeles mod v1.7.
The manual links to files of v1.7 which are not online ofcource (mission patch v1.7 for example).
It's forbidden to upload the BETA manual somewhere else.

Hey Hoppah, just reading through the manual and noticed this:

Holding left or right shift when calling a vehicle will send the called vehicle without lights and sirens.


This is great. Sometimes you don't need an Engine or Ambulance to come screaming to the scene, so this is really cool for realism inside the game.

I'm guessing they will still pass other cars though, correct? Is there anyway to have them drive with the same speed at other traffic when their lights and sirens aren't on and then speed up if you do activate the lights?

Also, could you only call the aerial without lights and sirens by holding control and shift when you click the button?
