Hi!

One reason I love playing Welfordshire Mod is because of the wide range of command units available; from Watch Managers to Station Managers to plain ol' Crew Managers, and then they have all different vests like Safety Officer.

So I'm wondering, can anyone tell me how they work?

I'm not 100% sure but it's pretty self explanatory crew manager is in charge of a crew, watch manager a watch (like shifts) and station manager a station. As for the vests I'm guessing when on attending a major incident the can take up different roles like safety officer for example

Crew managers are for one pump and they are in charge of it.

A Watch Manager are based on one of the pumps in a station and are in charge of the shift/watch they are on.

A Station Manager is in charge of the whole station on all shift's/watch's.

So I'll translate into American

Crew manager=Driver Operator/Engineer

Watch Manager=Captain or Lieutenant

Station Manager=Battalion Chief

I think the crew manager would be a Captain in the USA, as you have appliance driver/operator I think its called here. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

I can't remember does LT come before Captain? If so then it is probably LT that is the crew manager.

Yeah, firefighter- lieutenant- captain- battalion chief-district/assistant chief- fire chief

That's the usual system in the US, some areas have different setups of upper officers but Lt is always under captain. My VFD for example has a Lt, captain, assistant and full chief and that's it.
