I liked the updates... Don't bring Facebook into this cause the updates were about POLICE CARS AND THINGS.
Some reorganization and tweaks would help make it easier to follow. For example, the Mods forum for EM4 could be broken up to Released and WIP forums. Make a display cut off for the WIP forum of say 60/90 days to help keep people from bumping old topics. Same for the LA Mod submods. We no longer need permission so approved and not approved are not really accurate. There are also some released submods in the Not Approved subforum.
Plus I have seen updates about unicorns and crap in there, so yeah not to much different then fb lol. You get the good and the spam.

I have to agree with Xplorer4x4 there were a lot of updates that were just pointless... I don't care about your family life... And if you did then I am sorry but you need a life. I care for quick questions... not, "OMG I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY INTERVIEW WITH (what ever) FIRE DEPARTMENT" please... don't care.

I think a big problem with the status updates, was a lot of people were opting to register their accounts either through twitter or facebook, and therefore, their updates were being posted here. I think they were removed for that reason. Too much irrelevant posting.
