I thought such a topic might not get many replies and might not be worthwhile, but it's interesting to see people's views on whether the Metropolitan Police should continue to use the Jam Sandwich livery or you prefer Battenburg?

As seen above i think Jam Sandwich stands out somewhat better, i personally prefer it, it's a tad more intimidating, don't you think?

I think newer cars generally look better and more modern in battenberg livery, though I kinda like the charm of the old sandwich stripe. Also, I'm sure the Met doesn't cover Solihull's high street ;)

Although I did love the Jam Sandwich, I feel that in adverse weather conditions the Battenburg really comes into effect.

Jam sandwich, but that's probably because it looks more American. The other one kinda looks like a checkerboard.

Batten burg unique livery's have had their moment and the batten burg is ten times more effective vissibilty wise it only changed when the met opened a poll on Facebook

Jam looks good for the loco Pd and Batten burg for the highway because you would not see this in a loco town or city street.  It would hell of a faster way to get Coffey ha ha ha!!!

I agree with FR12, Jam Sandwich is better and bolder in urban enviroments but reflective sticks out on motorways.

I disagree with it being better in urban areas there was a statistic i saw from the met saying that majority of times when a police vehicle was involved in an accident with a civ its becuase the police were not visable (marked units)

I guess it's just an argument of whichever you think looks best and to back it up with stats :/

I like the Jam Sandwich. However, I still prefer American Emergency Vehicles.

Saw the title and was like 'What!?'

Then I realised.

In my opinion:

Jam Sandwich for general policing. (Area cars, SCO19, TSG...etc)

Battenburg for roads policing. (Traffic cars, traffic bikes...etc)

Current as it is basicaly.
