Imma take shot in the dark and say you are referring to the difficulty of connecting the hose to the truck. To connect the fire hose to the fire engine, you get the fire hose and click on the FRONT OF THE TRUCK. For some reason, it doesnt work when you right click the back of the truck like the other mods. Also to connect the hose to the fire hydrant, get the fire hose and connect the hose to the fire hydrant first then connect it to the truck. Is that better? That way you wont run out of water.

Does anyone know why my FF's can't access buildings? I got dispatched to a heat attack/cardiac arrest on the second floor. Dispatched both Tower Ladder and CARP, none could install at any buildings. When selected, buildings would flash with tower but no install command? Also what FF's can use the ladder? Is any or does it have to be certain types?

Thanks in advance

-FFMeredith

Yeah the same here.

What would be suitable is if the Pump Rescue Ladders could detach their ladders with two FFs and put them up against a building, so the FFs can climb them. How-ever this is extremely difficult to mod into a game where this currently isn't possible.

I dont recall ever seeing that in a mod :)

But sounds like a fun script

Nothing is impossible
I recall an old New York mod made a script a bit like it once :)

Hmmm, definetly something that someone should look into.

I'd do it, but I know next to nothing about scripting.

Unless you guys want to wait the few years it'd take for me to get good at it

Doesn't the Copenhagen mod have a similar script? You can take the ladders off the truck and then move them like the EOD robot to install it at windows, etc Maybe that's a place to start looking.

Yes I believe so, I remember them when I had the mod installed. You could unload the ladders and move them around and stuff just like the EOD bot :) I'll see if I can find a picture of the vehicle that uses that function.

Before your guys get too excited.

The car you are thinking about is this one:

http://redningunik.d...7bff6827c4a.JPG

And it is just a small ladder truck which is transported on a towtruck. Copenhagen Fire dept. uses for getting into small alleys.

In the mod it is a vehicle and in the real world there is a person inside it driving it.

But the idea about making it a normal ladder isnt bad, good luck :)

You connect to the hydrant then click on the appliance's cab

Keep an eye on traffic on the road from the petrol station to the farm, the traffic lights cause the traffic to back up and units can't spawn on the map because the vehicle spawn has been blocked. Use the traffic officers to redirect the traffic, that should help.

Yes that's the one I was on about :D it might be a good place to start with the ladders.

It does sound like a good starting point. It would definitely be a good RP point to any mod, to have detachable and extendable ladders.

I can sort of think how it might work.

An object is modeled as a ladder. (Easy for 3D Modellers)
The Ladder Pump all ready has a model on, this can be 'removed' from the Ladder Pump to make it look like the ladder has come off (Bit like with the equiptment shutters on current Ladder Pumps in the game!)
And at the same time a ladder model appears in the Fire-Fighter's hand, the FFs have a button which you click called 'Grab Ladder' and you must click on a Ladder Pump for it to 'appear' in their hands.

The difficult part would be raising it to a building and getting fire-fighters to use it. Maybe with certain 'enterable' buildings you can click the Fire-fighter with the ladder and click the 'enterable' building as it highlights in blue.
The ladder model then disappears from the fire-fighter and an extended ladder model (3D modeller could also do this) spawns at a set spawn point next to the building, below a window.
Then any fire-fighter can click the ladder and they go to the base of it, 'dissapear' and then respawn in the building next to the window.
It's a little bit un-realistic, but it's a good starting point to a fully working ladder script for any mod.
Would also be good for RP training with the climbing frame ladders out the back of the fire stations.

Anyone else got ideas?

Sounds like rush hour in Hereford!

(The amount of times I see a vehicle on 999 not able to get through traffic stuck at the traffic lights because their station/hospital (Spawn point) is blocked)
