hey guys,

I was wondering if I got spark iv working, would I need an ELS mod to download this?

I'm personly not a fan of ELS, because it crashes to often, makes the cars indestructible, and just can be annoying when it doesn't work right. So if anybody knows of a way That I could just use the GTA lights on this, that would be great.

Also, does anybody know of a good Non-ELS Fire Truck? other than the operational Ladder truck? all I've found is this: http://gtapolicemods...?do=file&id=290

Your pretty much out of luck on the ELS part. To my knowledge, Sanchez hasn't made any non-ELS vehicles. As for the firetruck, I'm not sure about that. I know a guy named mac21 made a seagrave tower ladder that was non-ELS. I myself used to manage the DL section on GTAPoliceMods and I haven't seen any others than these.

Most times, you can beg, plead and all that other fun stuff towards the creators to get an unlocked copy of their model to make a non-els version. That just involves deleting some stuff, changing some more stuff, and adding in the lights. Just go backwards on the ELS tutorial, and then forwards on the regular tutorial.

BTW, making ELS sucks. Horribly. I stopped playing GTA in a fit of rage. I also burnt a hole through the wall with lasers. But that's because my target moved..

I know what you mean NFK. Being in the GTAPoliceMods teamspeak has taught me one thing. The modders and their models are like magnets and scrap metal. You can never get them apart. Although if you could persuade either BxBugs123 or one of the other devs, you could probably get a model. And as NFK said, making a car non-ELS takes a LONG time.

I think I do know who has a non-ELS Chicago paint schemed truck,but I do not have the link to the truck since I don't pay attention too the FDLC links. I only play the LCPDFR mod with the default fire truck but w/ siren files changed, and a grey Noose Chevy seen on this link (not my youtube channel)

I really don't care that much to beg a modder for unlocking file, I don't mod much emergency and people ask me for assitance, mostly on stuff I can't do, so I don't think I'm gonna bother the author

My computer needs a new graphic card to run GTA IV, but I should be getting a new one soon, I did a lot of modding in GTA SA. I was looking at cars to replace and these are the best I've found. I just really like that F-350 Model.

And just another idea, I wouldn't mind having ELS just on the ambulance, is there anyway to do that?

Yeah, there is. You'd have to go into the .ini (settings) for ELS and disable for all vehicles other than the ambulance. Did you ever release your stuff for SA? I'm currently an SA modder as well.

I didn't make my own stuff, but I was trying to make a simplier version of SAFDFR but it always crashed. So I ended up with a police accessories /ELM/Police Chase v3 That worked out okay, but I think I have to make it from police chase v2, because after you kill a guy in a chase, the game sometimes crashes. Other than that I just have this:

I play GTA:IV LCPDFR mod with a whole fleet of ELS cars, for me its extremely stable however yes the downside is that the cars are indestructible but I am able to put up with that because the cars look good.

I like some ELS, but a lot of it I think is just obnoxious and ugly.

Oh my bad I read it wrong, theres a mod out there somewhere that allows you to add extra cars. I dont know what its called though, try searching google.

Extra liveries can be installed by following these instructions

Many vehicle mods have the ability to display up to four different main body textures, or "liveries", with each one spawning randomly in traffic. To enable this feature,

- Navigate to the folder where the game is installed (e.g. C:\Games\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV or similar).

- Open common\data.

- Find vehicles.ide (it may be set to "Read-Only". Right-click, select "Properties". In the "General" tab, under "Attributes", un-check "Read-Only", click "Apply").

- Open it with notepad (to make it easier to read, under the "Format" tab, un-check "Word Wrap").

- Find the vehicle you'd like to edit, and add the following to the end of the line, without spaces:





+livery


For example, here's what "police" should now look like:





police, police, car, POLICE, POLICE, VEH@STD, VEH@STD_RI1, 100, 999, 0.2345, 0.2345, 0.2, 2, 1.0 ,1, ext_requi+ext_strong+livery

I have only the grey one, but i guess if i follow the steps than i have for the bmw an red skin?
but in the files cant find the texury.
