Haha nope they wont, it will likely be dealt with by the FBI under cyber-terrorism, but I'm no expert as I am over in the UK, but it's certainly not an assassination attempt

Yeah, they will. If the President or Vice-President or important US official is threatened, it becomes the job of the Secret Service to handle it. Like when Ted Nugent (Don't know if you ever heard of him) made a remark about him being "in jail or dead if Obama gets re-elected" caused the Secret Service to meet with him.
Considering they were threatening an overthrow of the government, that will probably be investigated by the FBI.

I actually had the chance to meet with the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and the Director of Intelligence for the USMC (Brigadier Gen. Vincent Stewart) as well as visit the NSA and Pentagon last week. It's barely an FBI thing - it's far more in the league of the NSA than the FBI. All told, the 16 (17 counting the DEA) agencies (who make up the Intelligence Community) would most likely work in tandem to catch whoever did something like this.

Only the FBI will get envolved, unless the Secret Service think they will harm one of the Members of the Cabinet. (Some have Secret Service Security Teams if they are Valuable and High Ranks).
