Do I need to patch my game?

hi all, just got game 2day! downloading LA mod now (EM4). however, is there any patches i need for the game? i see only german and french patches on net? any info would be much apprciated for this beginner to the EM series! (ARMA2 just doesnt have any ambulances lol)

Not if you bought a new game, all recent copies are already patched these days.

Since you got the game today I don't think you will need a patch. Also the UK version of the game doesn't need a patch.

There's a simple way to check that. If your game is 1.3 it will show 1.3 in the left corner of your main menu :)

i can play game now... but when i start LA mod it crashes... yes im using vista 64. is there a workaround?

It might not be the solution or be related to your crash but when does the crash happen?

LA mod takes quite a while to load so maybe you need to wait longer for it?

also it dont matter how long i leave it, i get the spinning circle an then program stops responding

It's normal for the game to freeze when loading the mod. If you wait about 10 minutes the mod should load.

While it's loading don't press the mouse or keyboard, just leave it.

That will be because you moved the mouse or clicked again. Press continue and don't touch the computer, and the mod will load but it could take 10 minutes or more.

I hate to say it, but you're wrong. The mod shouldn't take more than 30 seconds to load according to his specs.

Anyway, I just found the following problem in your logfile:

?ERROR: dynlight.vsf Version 3.0.0.0 or higher required!

That usually means your graphic cards are not up to date. Go to your manufacturer website and check if there is newer version of software to be downloaded.
