Hi, I'm also from West Midlands.
It's great if you do this. :D Good luck!
I don't know any mod skills (yet) but I will help if I can

Edit: already 204? Then you will have good models. :) I have no idea what is a good amount but high means good models. :)

But higher-poly will generally mean more lag, especially if you're going to have lots of them. I don't really know. Updated images in original post.

2.000 to 4.000 polygons is a bit average as i understood it.
SO anything in that range would be good

* Witness: "Thank you. If I weren't under oath, I'd return the compliment."

Thanks for your kind words :)

4000 is maximum in EM4.

Maximum total polygons being rendered in-game at any one time (doubt it, that's a very low number for that, but just want to be sure) or maximum for a model? I know I can keep one model under 4000. 4000 is very high for me!

From reading the various threads about models, I am quite sure it is per model :)

That's good. It's not really going to have an interior, seeing as it doesn't really need one. It might have an opening trunk and door but that would just be a matter of about 20 polygons or so. I leave you with a picture of a roofless Vauxhall Vectra, then (first post). Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to work on it until Friday or maybe even Saturday, but I won't have much left to do .. UV mapping, creating some simple lightbar meshes .. then the mesh aspect of the Vectra will be complete. It would be nice if some people could help, because I don't think I'd be able to map very well. Maybe make a landscape, but beyond that ... well, we'll see how it goes. Goodnight everyone.

Kookas, good start and many luck for you! :12:

402 Polys are nothing...

Rampage, 4000 polys are wrong!

You can model how ever you will, in one screen can gives 140.000 polys/ game.

Many 3D-Modeler of german community have over 4000 polygons/ model (cars), sometimes 10.000 on a fire truck or ambulance - that is for me to high. it is to crazy for my hardware/ fraps.

Question at all british guys:

Would produce the Vauxhall in Liverpool? I have read the word "Vauxhall" near the Mersey in Liverpool.

I think there is a plant in Merseyside, you might have only seen a dealership or an advert though.

Your Vectra looks great and accurate so far. :)
About the roof, I couldn't find a very good picture, but it is basically just a curved surface with a lightbar on. Nothing unusual, you could probably do it without pictures.

Around here, the police use a lot of Vauxhall Astra's like these. There's also different cars for traffic, ARV, etc.

Great work so far. :)
