- cannot arrest - only involved in traffic incidents and maintenance
- doesn't drive fast or have priority in traffic

- can repair broken things such as traffic lights.
- rides in the highways maintenance van
- can place signs (divert route?)
Mechanics Engineer
- can repair civil service vehicles
- can ride in the RAC van or the AA rollback
