I believe Rescue 6 was placed in service for a certain period before and after the Republican National Convention due to the increased possibliity of terrorist attacks and increased call volume.
Rescue 6 was established August 2, 2004 on and housed on Lafayette St in the SOHO district of Manhattan in quarters shared by Ladder 20. It operated until 9am EST on November 3, 2004.
