If the author(s) restrict that you can't change their model, a cheating trick to not tamper with their model would be to reskin where the door would be to be "interior" space, then make a sep door part that is slung on top of their body.

See the white box at right corner down, you see there the models name, usually the name is what kind of model you spanwed at start, if you added surface, the name is surface, if you added sphere the name is sphere. Change che name to name you want to extract it like, testcar and you export it as testcar. sorry for my english
